Nuclear Pore Complex : New Findings and Updates
Initial questions that may arise to the common readers are: what Nuclear Pore Complex basically is, What NPC is responsible for and Why are we giving emphasizes on this element of study.
Firstly, we recall the CELL in Biology which (from Latin cella, meaning “small room”) is the basic structural, functional, and biological unit of all known living organisms, consisted of Cell Wall, (Cell) Plasma Membrane, Cytoplasm, Nucleus (containing the genetic material i.e., DNA &/or RNA) and other cell organelles etc. Now, Nuclear pores are large protein complexes that cross the double membraned nuclear envelope surrounding the eukaryotic cell nucleus. The nuclear pore complex (NPC), perhaps the largest protein complex in the cell, is responsible for the protected transport or exchange of components between the nucleus and cytoplasm.
This Video includes a basic knowledge over the Nuclear Pore Complex (NPC) and some of the major updates over the researches that are going on Nuclear Pore Complexes over the world.
